Los Angeles, CA - They have been several reports that five-star recruit RB C.J. Spiller from Lake Butler (Fla.) Union County has committed to the USC Trojans, the story first broke late yesterday as a Los Angeles based newspaper indicated that C.J. Spiller the eight ranked prep player in the entire nation, and arguably the top rated running back would attend the University of Southern California, when Spiller was contacted at his Florida home, he would neither confirm or deny the reports thus fueling speculation....Other high profile programs such as Florida State, Alabama, and Florida are on C.J.Spiller's short list, but if he were to sign with the USC Trojans it would be a major signing by the USC Trojans as their running back shortage due to the early defections of Heisman trophy winner Reggie Bush and all time touchdown leader LenDale White would be solved and making the position a team strength as the USC Trojans have already signed blue chipper RB Emmanuel Moody from Coppell, Texas, Stanley Havili from Cottonwood H.S. in Salt Lake City, Utah, and top 25 recruit RB C.J. Gable from Sylmar, California who gained over 2,000 last season to go along with holdovers Herschel Dennis and Michael Coleman, also the USC Trojans could land RB Stafon Johnson from Los Angeles Dorsey H.S. who is rated the 18th ranked player in the country regardless of position, Johnson has narrowed his choices down to Georgia, Washington, and the USC Trojans.....C.J. Spiller (5-10 190lbs) has sub 4.4 speed and is a true breakaway threat and could be the difference-maker the USC Trojans have grown accustomed to having, in the Army All-American which showcases the best High School players from around the country against one another, Spiller was simply breathtaking displaying rare speed and surprising power and routinely overwhelmed top flight defenders with his jaw dropping cuts and fakes, the possible combination of Spiller and Emmanuel Moody who may be a half step slower than C.J. Spiller but is even more elusive in the open field due to his ability to reach full speed in one step to go along with great hands and route running that will be vital in the passing and his unreal lateral movement and uncanny balance, the USC Trojans may very well have another duo thats capable of helping them win three more Pacific Ten Conference Championships along with a BCS berth that's come to be expected....
